Forest of Yellow Memories -Goheung

Goheung Yuza Festival 2025

November 6–9, 2025, Gohung Yuza Festival
701-7 Handong-ri, Pungyang-myeon, Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do

Title: Forest of Yellow MemoriesMixed materials, participatory installation performance, 2025

Yellow balloons sway in the wind. Each one holds the faces and smiles of the people who created them.
This work is a participatory installation performance in which festival visitors draw their own expressions and attach them to balloons. Through this process, individual memories gather to form a vast “forest of memories.”
The yellow hue of yuza symbolizes warmth, hope, and the vitality of life. At the same time, it reflects both the fleeting and enduring nature of memory. The balloons represent temporary human emotions that appear and disappear, as well as the communal bonds formed when these emotions come together.
Forest of Yellow Memories is an artistic attempt to transform the festival space into a living landscape where people, smiles, and the wind become connected—an interactive installation that allows everyone to experience becoming part of a single tree.
A participatory installation performance in which visitors draw their own expressions on balloons. It captures the process in which individual memories come together to form one “vast forest.”
